Hurd State Park

Founded in 1914, Hurd State Park offers a variety of activities ranging from picnics to hiking. Situated on the east bank of the Connecticut River, it is especially favored by those partial to boating and offers campsites during the summer for those traveling by river. Saved from mining operations by Connecticut's State Park Commission, it is an excellent spot to enjoy natural beauty.

Land activities

Hurd State Park offers nearly one thousand acres of land to explore and enjoy, containing trails suitable for hikers and mountain bikers alike, as well as several ideal spots to enjoy a bit of birdwatching. The picnic areas offer a beautiful view of the Connecticut River and serve as a scenic area to enjoy a meal while relaxing in the serenity of the riverside.
