Levy State Park

Near the border between New York and Connecticut, there lies a whole cluster of beautiful parks and recreations centers with every imaginable kind of amenity. Right in the center of this smattering of nature lies a little-known spot called Levy State Park.
Beautiful and convenient
The advantage of Levy is its centralized location. It provides a serene and scenic area for families to gather without having to drive to the ends of the earth. The park is a mere five to ten minutes drive away from the shopping centers that dot Ridgeway, Connecticut. Those few minutes change the scenery from one of highways and strip malls to rolling greenery perfect for strolling barefoot. The park is far enough away from bustling civilization to grant some peace and quiet, but near enough that one does not disappear into the wilds.
An ideal break for traveling
Anyone that is on a road trip would do well to add Levy State Park to his or her list of destinations. It is a few minutes from highway 116, which runs right into the state of New York. For those that think the journey is more important than the destination, the park is the perfect spot to have lunch, stretch out tired muscles, and relax for a few minutes before moving on.
Connecticut is famous for its history, colleges and cities, but much of the charm of the state is in its array of parks. They showcase the unmatched beauty of the northeastern United States that once enticed the forefathers of the U.S. to settle their colonies there.
