Macedonia Brook State Park

Macedonia Brook State Park in Connecticut is a marvelous blend of lush greenery, streams and pools and picturesque scenery of mountains and hiking trails. The 2300-acre park has a hard rock formation base, the wearing down of which has created the amazing terrain that attracts visitors from all over the country and beyond. The White Memorial Foundation of Litchfield gifted 1,552 acres of the park. A Conservation Corps Camp was set up at the park by the National Park Service many years later, which initiated substantial development and enhanced the facilities of the Park.
Activities and facilities
Across from the Macedonia Brook State Park runs the Blue Trail that traverses Cobble Mountain and others, providing hikers with stunning views of the Catskills. The water bodies are a pleasant diversion for hikers, fishermen and swimmers. The park offers many leisure activities like fishing, hiking, camping and outdoor games, and is a favorite spot for picnics and get-togethers. The park has 51 camp sites in a charming, wooded and rural ambiance with all the attendant facilities needed to make camping a wonderful experience. Additional amenities include drinking water, parking, picnic shelters and telephones. The peak camping season begins in mid-July and ends in September, during which Macedonia Brook State Park is overrun by people intent on having a good time.
