Mansfield Hollow State Park

In Connecticut, beautiful Mansfield Hollow Lake is the jewel of Mansfield Hollow State Park, and is a very popular destination loaded with family friendly activities. The lake is actually a man-made reservoir, created in the 1950s by the Army Corps of Engineers to supply local, growing towns with fresh water. Created with a flood control dam, three separate rivers converge here, making the area a perfect place for a reservoir, as the dam and reservoir stop flooding of the towns and communities nearby. Today, Mansfield Hollow State Park is enjoyed by thousands of people each year, in all seasons.
