Mohawk Mountain State Park

With a total area of 3,703 acres, the Mohawk Mountain State Park in Connecticut is so expansive that it stretches past three different towns: Cornwall, Goshen and Litchfield. The park originated with a 2,900-acre donation from the White Memorial Trust back in 1921. As home to one of the oldest forests and only bogs in the state, Mohawk Mountain State Park attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Skiing at Mohawk Mountain
Though the Mohawk Mountain State Park is closed from December through March, area tourists can still enjoy outdoor activities at the adjacent Mohawk Mountain ski area. Get access to the same majestic views hikers witness at Mohawk Mountain Park while you ski or snowboard.
Whether you are visiting the Mohawk Park to hike its dozens of scenic trails, or fish in the small but well-stocked Mohawk Pond, you can get more time to explore and relax by spending the night at the park. The park has several easy to access picnic and scenic areas that are located a short hike from the public campsites. Mohawk also has a couple of campgrounds reserved specifically for youth groups and non-profits.
