Sleeping Giant State Park

Head to the Sleeping Giant State Park. Look in the distance and see the giant in the two miles of mountains that make up the image. This formation of land is how the park got its name. With a range of different activities in this park, many people enjoy coming back to see the giant.

Camping and other activities

Enjoy camping along the foothills of the sleeping giant. Camping in a big group such as a youth group or just as a family is enjoyable for almost everyone. When finished putting up the tent, take a hike along the trails in the mountains. Pack a picnic and enjoy an all day hike or head to a picnic area. Horseback riding and even rock climbing are options available to those brave enough. There is a lookout tower as well, so head there and enjoy the scenic vistas. Winter activities include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Information

Sleeping Giant Park is open daily, all year, until sunset. The cost for the weekends and the holidays ranges from $4-$10. There is also a $50 yearly pass for those who like to visit often. Parking is located outside the park or down some of the roads at the trailheads.
